Solide Herinneringen invited residents, primarily from Amsterdam West, to visualise their ideas about housing and solidarity. In neighbourhood workshops, sketches and stories for the public space emerged, bringing together personal experiences and collective concerns.

The contributions are gathered on an interactive map where they are symbolically connected to locations in the city. In this way, public space functions as an imagined canvas on which diverse voices become visible—regardless of background or artistic experience.

In this project, imagination is used as a means of connection. Where the housing crisis is often approached in technical terms, Solide Herinneringen focuses on the social relationships and forms of solidarity needed to sustain it..

Solide Herinneringen was made possible with the support of Museum Het Schip, the Municipality of Amsterdam, the Amsterdam Fund for the Arts (AFK), the Iona Foundation, and the Amsterdamsche Fonds.
